About the Institute

The Institute of Inclusive Society and Culture will address the theme of "the realization of an Inclusive Society" which is the purpose of the educational research at the Faculty of Human Relations at Otsuma Women's University by focusing mainly around three academic disciplines of sociology, psychology, and social welfare while actively coordinating and cooperating with other academic areas and actual practices.

The Institute of Inclusive Society and Culture consists of two divisions, one is the research division, the other is the division of workshops and industry-academic-government collaboration. At the research division, "researchers," who are full-time teachers at the Faculty, are going to be engaged in various research themes concerning "the realization of an Inclusive Society" and announce their research outcomes. At the same time, the institute will foster researchers who are going to be responsible for the next generation, by inviting practitioners and young researchers who play active role in the area relating to inclusive society as "fellows" to share pioneering themes potential in the academic and practical arenas as well as to offer research opportunities and environments and advise research methods.

The division of workshops and industry-academic-government collaboration will conduct various projects under the key word of inclusive society including holding workshops, developing new models of services, and conducting collaborative researches, based on grasping the needs of local communities, industrial circles, and local governments. In these projects, researchers and fellows will work together.
